Built in 1920, the Scenic Railway has been the signature ride at Dreamland for 90 years. Its patent described it as follows:

"Each car will travel along the straight portions of the track and acquire a quick centrifugal motion in passing around the curves, turns or corners, the suddenness of which causes agitation or commotion of the occupants, and hence much merriment and amusement!"

The ride, now a Grade II listed structure, will be restored to its former, majestic glory ready to ride again when the new park opens. The intention is to retain the features that make the Scenic Railway special and to ensure that the ride will operate again with a brakeman.
